Briana Kelly (MAT) is the Assistant Director of Restorative Practices & Student Discipline at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). Her role focuses on reducing disproportionate exclusionary discipline in schools by providing training and technical assistance on Washington State discipline laws, as well as guidance on the implementation of culturally relevant and trauma responsive restorative practices. Before joining OSPI in 2023 Briana served as a middle school assistant principal in Renton, WA and high school ASB leadership, AVID, and Language Arts teacher in Lakewood, WA. She stays engaged with students as a certified challenge course facilitator through the Association of Washington State Principals (AWSP) Cispus Learning Center and as a senior counselor for the Association of Washington Student Leadership (AWSL) Mt. Olympus summer leadership program.
